Last week, Gomes’ touring vehicle caught fire while driving down Interstate 55 towards St. Louis. It quickly became engulfed in flames but Anthony was able to escape without harm. Gomes managed to rescue all of his guitars from the burning vehicle but a great deal of his musical equipment, clothes and music collection were destroyed in the fire. Within hours of hearing of the news, Gomes’ family and friends rallied to the bluesman’s aid and set up a fundraiser to help “Get AG Back on the Road“. The fundraiser is being overseen by the Music Is The Medicine Foundation and approved through FundRazr.
