I’ve recently discovered, through the social media networks, one of Kansas City’s hottest up and coming country artists, Josey Milner. Being fairly new to KC, I wasn’t aware of her popularity with the hometown crowds. However, that all changed when I listened to this incredibly talented young singer and I realized why they consider her to be the hometown favorite! Josey has such a beautiful and powerful voice with a wide vocal range. She possesses a maturity that is beyond her years and a dedication to becoming one of country music’s greatest stars. She is known as the “Country Princess“, but someday she could be the “Queen“!
For more on Josey, please read the following excerpt taken from her profile bio:
Being referred to as “Kansas City’s Country Princess” Josey has a strong will and determination that has led her far beyond the limits of any typical young artist. She is in the pursuit of her dream.
Growing up on a small farm in Missouri, she has always had country living around her. Josey began barrel racing at the age of seven, and the rodeo arena became her first stage as she began singing the National Anthem at her youth rodeos. Later she performed at PRCA rodeos across Missouri and Kansas including the American Royal in Kansas City.
She has hung up her spurs to focus on her music and began singing at country music shows, local fairs, and to pretty much anyone who would listen. In 2010, she was invited to sing on the main stage at the International Steel Guitar Show in St Louis. This is where she received the advice to get her a band together and get out there and start playing. After returning home, that’s exactly what she did.
She has put together a awesome band with some of the top musicians in Kansas City. They have great stage presence with a good sound that is very appealing to the audience. Primarily a country band, they have a broad variety of genres which includes, new country, classic country, country rock, and a little bit of Rock & Roll. The band features both female and male vocals, bass, lead and rhythm guitar, steel guitar and drums.
