Well another year has come and gone, Christmas songs by every Tom, Dick and Harry have re-emerged from the woodwork, and everyone, except those driving, seem to be of good cheer. We watch the same cheesy movies over and over; my favorite being “The Christmas Story”, such a classic. Then the old-school animated features like “Rudolph” and “The Abominable Snowman”. Ahhh the memories, the smells, the carbs! I don’t ever want it to end…
I’ve had a lot of time to really contemplate my life this last year, where I’m at, where I want to go and who I want to become. I turned the big 45 and suddenly realized I wasn’t a youngen anymore, that was kind of a rude awakening, but my spirit remains in its prime and refuses to give in to the standards society puts on us gals over 40… Enough said.
Well, it’s that time of year when it seems the world comes to a head; peace is more important, love is in the air, and the economy gets a good healthy boost, it certainly robbed me blind this Christmas, but know that I am truly full of gratitude for the gifts I was blessed to give, and mighty appreciative and blessed as well for every morsel of a cookie and cake and cheeseball I received, and OH the joyous gifts.. How truly grateful I am! I think I’ve made that matter clear. Anyway, I’ve loved a lot in life and finally feel the Christmas spirit in the air for the first time in 12 years, and on that note, I will say that I feel more love in my life from friends, family and colleagues across the board., what a great year this was… I have no family near me for thousands of miles, so my friends are my family where I live. I’m grateful for their shoulder, for their support, for their example, and I most certainly can’t forget my children, Scotty, Anthony, Brandon and little Isabel. The boys are grown, but precious they still are! And Izzy, well she keeps me on my toes 24/7 because unfortunate or not, she’s just like me… They have each blessed my life every day they’ve been in it.
And so we reflect on our past year, our up’s, our down’s, the happy times and the times we wished we could truly lock away and never think of again. I think of how differently my life was even a year ago at this same time. I had just moved here from my home on the lake and didn’t know a soul, didn’t go out, didn’t take in the season at all. Then, due to some unfortunate series of events that landed me in the hospital for a couple of weeks, I was introduced to someone who cared for me during my stay who turned out to be my now, best friend. His name is Ron Chipman, and he single-handedly changed the course of my existence here in The Woodlands. He introduced me to his friends, his friends would introduce me to their friends, and suddenly, I actually knew people! It was amazing to me. I’m grateful to my band of single-mom sisters who support me in being the best me I can be… Okay, now I’ll get off the mushy stuff…
I think we all celebrate Christmas in a different way, with different traditions and philosophies in its meaning. For me, I’m a firm believer in the God and Savior that made my very existence possible. I’d like to think I celebrate Him year around, not just at Christmas. I try to remember always where I came from and feel gratitude on every level. I’m not a perfect church-goer, but I show my love and thanks every chance I get, not just morning and night and on Sunday’s. For the record, I respect all religions, I respect people and judge folks on their merit alone, color, occupation, creed, status, etc., mean absolutely nothing to me. If you’re good people, that’s good enough for me. I’m just giving thanks to The Man.
As far as what to do for Christmas, there’s always a good band playing somewhere, perhaps your favorite in concert?! Or you can always check out your local hot-spots and support your local fav’s. Go on now and support your local starving musicians. The Universe will thank you.
Special Thanks to Mr. SupportKickAss himself, Tim Lester, who works his ass off for our enjoyment, and for you my dear, we are ALL truly grateful. And a HUGE Thanks to all you SUPPORTKICKASS READERS!!! We truly appreciate all your support and hope that you keep coming back.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL!! Until next time…..My hugs go out to you all.
Alison Nicole Osmond

Dear Alison Nicole Osmond, Before I start my words here, I’d like to know more about you, your writings, music, likes and anything else you would care to share after you have read my caring words. Yes, I do write too and enjoy each word I type, write or say because there is a meaning behind all the words that come from me.
My favorite Christmas and all time movie is a comedy by the one and only Chevy Chase. The hilarious, eye watering funnies, never can be copied comedy movie is my all time favorite! I wish “Chevy” and “Beverly” would make another Christmas Vacation movie so I could hear “Ellen” call her husband “Sparky”! My wife calls me “Sparky”, I think that is the cutest. My wife and I truly love and enjoy this movie, I myself have seen it over 100 times and that is crazy, lol.
Forty five years old today is like twenty five years old and for sure you look 25, yes Alison I said 25!
You having four children, family thousands of miles away and friends near, I believe and know that you’re a kind, friendly and an attractive woman. In my book, all women are strong inside and out. All women are stronger then men each and everyday in almost every way, that would be a strong 99% way!
My new friend, I hope! I would love to hear what had happened to you health wise, what made you move to the Woodlands and whatever else you’d care to share with me!? Like, feeling the Christmas spirit again in twelve years.
Making new friends is the best that can happen to anyone with a good soul, bright mind and a totally likeable person, in this case you Alison!
I’ve been through a lot myself since 2004, my health issues, almost dying but always remembering my wife, God, family and all my superb friends. I take my days, day by day and that is all about me, unless you care to hear more. This is about you, my new friend, I know that you’re a person who is an all around, purely genuine person. I wouldn’t be writing this if my mind was telling me differently, so…
Dear Alison, I hope that everything in your life this year will be strictly to your liking and also we will become friends. Day by day and that is the only way to live. May God Bless you, your family, friends and everything that you do. Your friendly (new) friend, Dez Augusztin via CT via HU.
P.S. I wrote this all on my smart phone, ahead I apoligize for any mistakes, thanks, LOL.
Peace
